The cases presented in this article deal with self-destructive behavior employing lethal methods during a single episode. Death was the result in the first case; the victim survived in the second. There was an underlying psychotic condition in each case, making it impossible for the individuals to control their impulses or cope with inner rage and underlying passive-dependent needs. The literature on multiple suicide methods and suicide demographics is also discussed.
