The purpose of this study was to assess sensitivity levels of 4 career groups on attitudinal and specific action variables to the severe discouragement of youthful individuals. The author states that youthful discouragement may be considered the leading cause of death among the young and is manifest in risk-taking, deliberate self harm and suicide. A 32-item questionnaire designed to measure awareness, willingness to act, and sensitivity was administered. Attitudinal findings are discussed.
