Abstract
Examination of Anxiety During the Last Seven Days of Life, Comparing the Hospice and Non-Hospice Experience (Micro R 726.8 P65 1986)
Posner M G
Two patient populations were studied in regard to hospice versus the non-hospice experience for dying patients and their families. 20 terminal lung cancer hospice patients and their significant others were studied, along with a like number of non-hospice terminal patients and their families. A significant positive difference in quality of life was found in the hospice group, who also had a lower level of anxiety overall. The significant others of the hospice group also reflected this trend.
