Lethality Factors and the Suicide Attempt (IN: Suicidology: Contemporary Developments, ed. by E S Shneidman)
Worden J W
Presents a study of 40 suicide attempters selected on the basis of the lethality level of their attempt as determined by the Risk-Rescue Rating. Charateristics which differentiated high-lethal from low-lethal attempters include a history of psychosis, poor social relationships, intent to die, & life-threatening behaviour. The Risk-Rescue Rating as a good measure of intent to die appears to be validated by the study. (29 refs.) (LH)
