Rehabilitation counselors are faced with the suicidal client and a lack of knowledge in dealing with that client. Discussion includes methods for evaluating the risk to the client and a technique of contracting with the client. These methods are proven effective in dealing with the client. Suggestions for dealing with the suicidal client with minimal interruption of the rehabilitation program are included.
