Presents a study reporting on the frequency of suicide attempts in families where sexual abuse had been substantiated. Suicide attempts were found to have occurred in 5.4% of 201 families who were followed from 3-33 months. No attempts were seen in perpetrators or in uninvolved siblings. Mothers & victim-daughters both made attempts. Several preventive interventions are suggested. (7 refs.) (LH)
