This chapter describes how drawings can be used with the child abuse victim both to obtain more information about what happened to the child sexually & to respond to the child’s need to escape from the traumatic situation into fantasy & play. The discussion is based on 19 consecutive interviews with girls who were suspected incest victims. Drawings were collected in each interview & analyzed together with other diagnostic information about the child & her family. (9 refs.) (LH)
