The purpose of this study was to investigate the frequency of suicidal behavior during psychiatric hospital treatment, its connections with & effects upon therapeutic relationships, the subjective meanings of suicidal behavior to patients, themselves, the treatment of these patients, & their prognosis within a 7-year follow-up period.
