Treatment Outcome Prospective Study (TOPS): Client Characteristics and Behaviors Before, During, and After Treatment

A long-term, large-scale longitudinal investigation of the natural history of drug abusers before, during, & after receiving services in publicly funded drug abuse treatment program, known as the Treatment Outcome Prospective Study (TOPS) is presented. Design of the TOPS research is described, key findings from treatment & follow-up studies are summarized, & recommendations for future research are made. 12 Refs. (LH)
