This article discusses suicide risk assessment of mentally disturbed patients by the physician. Both the patient & key family members should be interviewed & factors to be considered include communication of intent, previous attempts, age & sex, acuteness of the mental/emotional disorder, methods, identification, & anniversary reactions.
