This proposal outlines a strategy for actively upgrading the knowledge & skills of Alberta helping professionals & other gatekeepers with respect to all facets of suicidal behavior: prevention, intervention, postvention. Regional needs are met by involving local resource persons as trainers & consultants. The aim is to provide basic training in suicide & suicide prevention using teaching materials already available & developing new programs as required. Budget, timeline & other details included.
