The case of a patient who died from an overdose of Amitryptyline with alcohol was investigated by a sheriff’s fatal accident inquiry. The inquiry revealed problems faced by general practitioners with potentially suicidal patients &, although the doctors were not held responsible for the death, several recommendations were made. (LH)
