Selected aspects of treatment of 6 adolescents who attempted suicide by self-immolation are described. Records were reviewed to identify patterns in management during acute care, family characteristics & responses to intervention, psychopharmacological treatment, subsequent psychiatric treatment & what could be learned of outcomes. One patient completed suicide despite extensive rehabilitation efforts. 28 Refs. (LH)
