Abstract
Lethality of Method of Suicide Among a Youthful Sample of Committers: An Examination of the Intent Hypothesis
Peck D L
Analysis of medical examiner’s records for a sample of 455 youthful suicide committers suggests that committers may not be similar to populations from which suicide attempters are drawn. Results do not confirm recent findings on lethality of suicide method chosen by attempters & intent, & raise a question about the reliability of generalizing findings based on attempters vs committers.
