Following a general discussion of suicide among university students, details of peer counselling program at 2 Canadian universities are outlined. The program consists of a student operated telephone counselling service, a “Rap Room” where students can talk with peer counsellors, & a Birth Control Clinic where peer counsellors help with sexual problems. The author suggests that peer counselling has helped to humanize the academic environment. (LH)
