41 patients who attempted suicide were examined by a short form of MMPI. Results indicate that the suicidality of these patients derives from the concomitant effect of 3 factors: 1) a disturbed childhood which had a negative influence on ego strength, adaptability, & anxious behavior patterns; 2) stressful living conditions such as dense population, noise & pollution; 3) an acute conflict situation, usually an affective conflict. 36 refs.
