A sample of 222 suicide attempt patients was analyzed by social class & was found to closely correspond to the demographic proportions of the normal population. The largest proportion of serious attempts & psychotic illness tended to appear in upper class patients while lower class patients had an increased proportion of suicidal gestures & charcaterological disorders. 21 refs.
