Presents a detailed analysis of 143 victims of craniocerebral gunshot wounds including demographic details, general & neurological condition, anatomic injuries, laboratory findings, surgical care, neurological course, & neurological & functional outcome. The review confirmed that few apparently neurologically devastated patients can be saved. Calls for further studies as to the helpfulness of early resuscitation & appropriate criteria for surgery.
