Presents results of a study designed to test 2 hypotheses advanced to explain differences in the choice of method in completed suicide. Findings indicate that availability (& socio-cultural acceptance) is more important in the choice of method than is lethality. Calls for cross-cultural testing using a more extensive breakdown of potential methods. (LH)
