The paper examines the response by a small town high school to increasing numbers of school crises. Teachers & administrators planned an intervention strategy with 2 goals: to educate teachers & administrators in recognizing early stages of adolescent crisis & to develop a proactive model to deal with incipient crisis. Inservice education focused on identifying behavioral clues, incipient problems & the establishment of a crisis resource team. The model is simple & cost effective.
