The Suicide Prevention Project is an intensive crisis intervention training program for internal resource staff in the school such as school psychologists, social workers, nurses, and guidance counselors. The 3 guiding principles include: astrong belief in addressing both the cognitive & affective aspects in teaching suicide prevention, building concrete skills through a “how-to” approach, & devising internal networks as links with outside agencies. The training format is outlined.
