This study was designed to investigate the incidence & severity of depression among college students seeking help at a university counseling center. Forty six students completed the Beck Depression Inventory, MMPI & the Presenting Complaint Checklist used by the counseling center. The major finding of the study is that the therapist is better at evaluating the client’s level of depression regardless of whether the client checks this as a primary level of concern. (LH)
