A multipurpose crisis intervention center in Atlanta is described. The service is integrated with social services and the health community. A range of services is provided with the telephone crisis service as the backbone. Other services include direct crisis intervention visits in the community, work with the homeless in shelters and folow-up from hospital discharges to ensure continuity of care. Community consultation and education is the last component of the program.
