The Crisis Home Program, which provides an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization for clients with chronic emotional problems who are in an acute crisis situation, is described. Clients spend a few days with a licensed foster care family and are seen daily by a psychiatric nurse. Program evaluation is discussed and problems that have arisen are listed along with subsequent responses.
