Reports the case of a young female patient with a clinical picture of pulmonary embolism. Widespread deposits of metallic mercury were demonstrated throughout both lungs and in a lesion on the wrist. These resulted from intravenous injection of mercury by the patient in a suicide attempt. 5 refs.
