This paper presents demographic and social data of 521 persons who had attempted suicide. The typical demographic profile of suicidal attempters is (1) a young unmarried male with secondary education and unemployed, white collar worker or professional and (2) a married woman having strained interpersonal relationships with family members. 14 refs.
