Lepkifker E~~Horesh N~~Floru S
Long-term lithium maintenence in a group of 33 recurrent unipolar patients was followed for 15 years. Analyzed were: changes of frequency, severity, duration of depressive relapses, rate & duration of hospitalization, suicidal ideas or attempts, & various assessments of outcome. A significant reduction was found on all indices during lithium treatment as compared to before, attesting to its long-term, prophylactic effficacy. These results are discussed & compared with other reports. 18 refs.
