The mean suicide rates for the largest 50 standard metropolitan statistical areas of the U.S. for 1970 were as follows: for cities east of the 90 degree longitude–10.75, for cities between 90 deg. & 105 deg.–12.26, & for cities west of 105 deg.–16.90.
