An Assessment of Canadian Police Officers’ Attitudes to, and Knowledge of, Suicide and Attempted Suicide

Presents a survey of 111 Canadian police officers’ attitudes toward suicide & an analysis of the results. 33 clergy, 29 counsellors & 36 members of the general public were also surveyed. Results showed that the police officers were generally compassionate. However, many felt they were untrained for suicide intervention.
