Eighteen, 15-22 year old West Indian (Jamaican) migrant women with a history of delinquent behavior in England were studied to determine if separation from family in Jamaica, rejection by family living in England, and a feeling that England was not their home led to delinquent behavior unique to their stay in England. A mental examination revealed that 33% of the women had previously attempted suicide.
