Attitudes & practices of 130 counsellors who work with the terminally ill were examined in regard to suicide & passive euthanasia. Significant differences in attitudes were found for the variables of profession, religious affiliation, & experience with a terminally ill relative. The majority supported a terminally ill patient’s right to die & passive euthanasia. Resonas why counsellors believe such a patient may commit suicide or choose passive euthanasia are listed. (NBB)
