Kramer M E
Provides the basis of a clinically-relevant definition of competence in the area of suicide management. The initial data forming this 3-phase, multidimensional scaling study were written descriptions of treatment considerations for suicidal clients collected from 50 randomly-chosen, experienced clinical psychologists. 4 conceptual categories were determined: treatment intervention/locus of control; emotional needs/therapist activity; ventilation of affect; & therapist’s emotional distance.
