Suicidal tendencies, demographic characteristics, depression level, & diagnosis were investigated in a sample of 273 psychiatric outpatients of a University Clinic in Ankara, Turkey. The sample consisted of 141 males & 132 females. Psychiatric interviews & questionnaires were used to collect data. Risk was greater among divorced & widowed, & depressed patients. In this study, demographic characteristics of age, sex, profession, income level & religious belief were not significant predictors.11r.
