Explored are the reciprocal relationship between suicide notes & the lives of the victims who wrote them. It is suggested that suicide notes have a great deal of meaning when they are placed within the context of the victim’s life history. Comparisons of the suicide note left by a charter in the novel “The Dwarf” (P> Lagerkvist, 1945) & that of a 23 year old female illustrate the reciprocal relationship between the lives of suicide victims & their notes.
