Physician’s Attitudes Towards Suicide and Their Influence on Suicide Prevention

This study obtained information about motives, presuicidal behavior, & personality traits of suicidal patients & the kinds of reactions to them. Also assessed were the impact of first aid, & the effect of suicide on the physician. A questionnaire was completed by 116 physicians, 98% had experiences with suicide. Results indicated an urgent need for information & post-graduate lectures about ethiology, symptomatology, & psychotherapy of suicidal behavior. (NBB)
