Attitude Antecedents as Contributors to the Cause of Suicide: Help for the Helpers

This paper reports on the work of the task force of the CMHA (South Central Region) in developing an attitudes module for a 2 day basic program on suicide prevention. It encourages participants to voluntarily alter their normal, but negative attitudes about suicide. A custom made film,”Cause of Death” & an Attitudes Questionnaire are the basic learning aids used. Preliminary evaluation by the 2500 participants trained to date has been positive. (NBB)
