41 male skydivers from the southeastern United States, with a mean of 531 sport-parachute jumps were administered a series of questionnaires. Data indiated that skydivers are of superior verbal intelligence, with a mean IQ of 122, and that they are more free from anxiety, phobia, & depression; open & lacking in defensiveness; socially deviant & anticonventional; impulsive & oriented toward physical action; hedonistic & thrill seeking; sociable & extroverted; & free from health worries. 8 Ref.
