The Do-It-Yourself Death Certificate (DIYDC) is a slightly abridged facsimile of the Michigan death certificate. In its first series of research applications, the DIYDC was administered to 158 subjects who had chosen death-related courses or occupations; other questionnaires were also administered. Among the findings: cancer deaths were underestimated, & quick death was heavily preferred. The DIYDC appears to offer a useful supplement for studying orientations toward life and death. 10 Ref
