Abstract
Attitudes of the Emergency Physician Toward and Diagnostic Evaluation of Suicide Attempters
Rund D A
The negative attitudes of emergency personnel toward suicide attempters are well documented in recent studies (1984). Negative attitudes may involve the emergency medical professional’s lack of knowledge about the variety of psychiatric conditions present in a patient who attempts. Proper guidelines & education for the emergency physician should help improve early management of suicide attempters. 27 ref. (NBB)
