Adolescent and Adult Drug Treatment Clients: Patterns and Consequences of Use

Shifts in the substance abuse population are likely to affect changes in drug abuse treatments. Data from 1976-81d NIDA statistics indicate a trend toward multiple substanc abuse & a declining age of onset of drug use. This study compares the patterns of use, medical & psychological consequences of use, & other problems of adolescent & adult drug treatment clients. Subjects were persons who underwent diagnostic evaluation provided by Gateway Foundation between Feb.81 & June 82. 23 ref. (NBB)
