On Suicide in a South African General Hospital Psychiatric Inpatient Unit

Reported are findings from research undertaken to investigate suicides on a general hospital psychiatric unit. Nine victims were studied over a 10 year period. Epidemiologic data is presented. Ward milieu & staff changes are studied to determine the effect of these factors on rates of suicide. (NBB)
