An extensive study was conducted to translate research findings on the pathological effects of unemployment & other forms of economic distress into a form that would be useful for economic policy decisions. Significant relationships exist between economic policy & measures of national well being. This study indicates that actions that influence national economic activity-especially the unemployment rate- have substantial bearing on physical & mental health, & criminal aggression. 133 Ref.
