The incidence of psychiatric illnes was investigated among 16,746 women taking part in the Oxford Family Planning Association Contraceptive Study. Of these, 9504 were recruited while using oral contraceptives, 4144 while using a diaphram 3098 while using an IUD. No significant correlations were found betwqeen psychiatric disorders, suicide attempts & method of contraception. 15 refs.
