Fogel B S
This paper reports the case of a nonmelancholic depression in an elderly female with minimal mental abnormalitywho responded to ECT but not to tricyclic antidepressants & who had extremely high concentrations of post-dexamethasone cortisol. It is suggested that extremely high cortisol concentrations may help predict the response to somatic treatment. 9 refs.
