Dr. Schneidman presents a logic of suicide based on classification of the kinds of errors in logic & types of implicit premises that the individual makes. A schematization of 3 types of suicide logic, each with its own psychological counterpart & implications for treatment, is presented. Logical suicides are typically individuals who are in physical pain; paleologic suicides are individuals who show the traditional hallmarks of psychosis.
