Group Discussions With the Parents of Leukemic Children

The authors describe a group for parents of children with acute leukemia, which was established in conjunction with a leukemia treatment program. Weekly meetings were held to discuss problems concerning patients, parents, siblings, friends, & the medical team. The group was found to be useful in strengthening the family during periods of crisis, & in supporting parents following bereavement. 12 ref. (NBB)
