The Suicide Bereavement Program, established by CMHA in 1982, provides support for those who have been bereaved through suicide. Clients are referred through the Medical Examiner’s Office, the police crisis unit, funeral home services, city hospitals, social services, & other community agencies. Groups meet for 1.5 hours per week for 8 weeks, & ongoing support is provided. A future component of the program may be a “match” – a volunteer matched with a survivor for friendly support. (NBB)
