The Lesser Slave Lake Indian Regional Council undertook this research project in 1984 to assess the needs of the Indian Communities for mental health services, to identify existing services & gaps in or barriers to their use, & to assess the emotional & spiritual needs of Indian people on 9 Reserves in the area. This report is extensive & detailed. Appendix 1 provides suicide statistics from the Attorney General’s Office; tables L-O show suicide rates by age, region, sex, & cause of death.
