A Swedish study of mortality among 3857 females with diagnoses of breast carcinoma found a 21% increase of intercurrent deaths. Excess risks were found due to circulatory diseases, other tumours, accidents, suicides & injuries & infectious diseases. Studies were conducted during the period 1961-63 & 1971-73. (NBB)
