A survey was conducted to determine the degree of comfort that paraprofessional telephone crisis counsellors experience in a variety of clinical interaction situations. An inventory of 100 separate clinical interactions was completed by a sample of crisis counsellors. These items were grouped into 7 areas: suicide, obscene calls, client anger, client expressions of positive affect towards the counsellor, client resistance, physical & sexual abuse, & anger toward others. 13 ref.
